AI Governance
AI governance is the set of organisational policies, processes, roles, and oversight structures that determine how AI is adopted, deployed, and managed across an enterprise. It covers accountability, risk management, compliance, ethical use, and strategic alignment.
This is distinct from model governance, which focuses on individual AI systems (bias testing, drift monitoring, explainability). Organisational AI governance addresses the broader question: does your organisation have the framework to use AI responsibly at scale?
AI governance matters because:
- Regulatory risk: The EU AI Act, UK DSIT framework, and ISO 42001 are creating enforceable compliance obligations. Non-compliance can mean fines up to 7% of global turnover.
- Shadow AI: Employees are adopting AI tools without organisational knowledge or approval, creating data leakage and compliance risks.
- Board accountability: Boards are increasingly expected to demonstrate oversight of AI risk — and cannot delegate what they do not understand.
- Reputational exposure: AI failures, bias incidents, and data breaches can cause significant reputational damage.
The EU AI Act is the world’s first comprehensive AI regulation. It uses a risk-based classification system (unacceptable, high, limited, minimal risk) and applies to any organisation that develops, deploys, or distributes AI systems within the EU — regardless of where the organisation is based.
Key dates:
- February 2025: Prohibitions on unacceptable risk AI systems
- August 2025: Obligations for general-purpose AI models
- August 2026: Full enforcement for high-risk AI systems
If your organisation uses or deploys AI, or sells products or services containing AI into the EU, you are likely within scope.
Shadow AI refers to artificial intelligence tools used within an organisation without formal approval, oversight, or governance. It is the AI equivalent of shadow IT — but with higher stakes.
Risks include:
- Data leakage: Sensitive data entered into unapproved AI tools may be processed or stored outside your data governance framework
- Compliance gaps: Unapproved tools cannot be assessed for regulatory compliance
- No audit trail: Without visibility, you cannot demonstrate governance to regulators or auditors
- Inconsistent quality: Unvalidated AI outputs may inform business decisions without quality assurance

Most AI governance platforms focus on model governance — monitoring individual AI systems for bias, drift, and explainability. These tools are valuable but address a different problem.
Revue-ai focuses on organisational AI governance: the policies, processes, accountability structures, and oversight mechanisms that determine whether AI is used responsibly across the enterprise. We answer:
- Do you have an AI governance framework?
- Can you demonstrate regulatory compliance readiness?
- Is your board equipped to oversee AI risk?
- Are your third-party AI vendors governed appropriately?
Think of it as the difference between auditing a single system and auditing the governance framework that should oversee all systems.
Revue-ai’s AI governance products assess organisational readiness against:
- EU AI Act — The world’s first comprehensive AI regulation with risk-based classification
- UK DSIT Framework — The UK’s five-principle approach to AI regulation
- ISO/IEC 42001 — International standard for AI management systems
- ISO/IEC 42005 — Guidance on AI impact assessments (emerging)
- NIST AI RMF — US AI Risk Management Framework
Our assessments map your current maturity against these frameworks, identifying gaps and providing a clear path to compliance readiness.
AI governance assessments are typically commissioned by:
- CIOs and CTOs — Responsible for AI strategy and technology governance
- Chief Data Officers — Overseeing data governance that intersects with AI
- Heads of AI / ML — Leading AI deployment and needing governance frameworks
- Risk & Compliance Officers — Assessing regulatory readiness and risk exposure
- Board Members / Audit Committees — Fulfilling oversight responsibilities for AI risk
- Management Consultants — Advising clients on AI governance readiness
Revue-ai delivers AI governance intelligence at a fraction of the time required by traditional consulting:
- AI Governance Pulse: Instant results. 3 minutes to complete, immediate scoring.
- Readiness Assessment: 48 hours from submission to board-ready report.
- Risk Intelligence Report: 1 week from submission to comprehensive risk analysis.
Compare this to traditional consulting-led governance reviews, which typically take 3–6 months and cost six figures.

Methodology
Revue-ai combines:
- Specialist trained AI analysis and reporting
- AI-enhanced pattern detection
- Comparison to best practice frameworks
This blend enables insights that are accurate, fast and accessible—core to our mission and values.
ChatGPT is a general-purpose assistant. Revue-ai is a purpose-built delivery intelligence engine with an 11-step analysis pipeline. The difference is like asking a generalist for advice versus engaging a specialist consulting team:
- 53+ specialist AI agents working in parallel—each trained for specific analysis tasks like risk assessment, gap analysis, change readiness, and benchmarking. Methodology-specific agents activate based on your project type (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid)
- Knowledge graph construction—we build a structural map of concepts, risks, and relationships across your documents, enabling cross-source insights that no single prompt could produce
- Agentic evidence retrieval—a multi-step autonomous search system that achieves 90–95% evidence coverage, compared to 65–75% from simple vector search. Every finding is anchored to your source material
- 192+ consultant-grade benchmarks—findings are calibrated against real-world examples drawn from 25+ years of management consulting. The AI doesn’t guess what good looks like—it has been shown
- Three-tier quality assurance with an independent LLM Judge that scores every finding against evidence, relevance, and accuracy thresholds. Reports must meet an 80/100 consultancy-grade threshold before delivery
- Thesis-driven reports—structured using the Pyramid Principle with evidence citations, not a list of AI-generated bullet points. 16 strategic sections, executive-grade narrative, fully traceable findings
ChatGPT gives you a conversation. Revue-ai gives you a board-ready assessment with the rigour, structure, and evidence trail that enterprise decisions demand—in hours, not weeks.
We apply a three-tier quality assurance system that mirrors how the best consulting firms review their work:
- Tier 1: AI Validation—Each finding is scored against relevance, accuracy, completeness, and evidence quality. Findings below threshold are filtered out.
- Tier 2: Evidence Enhancement—Every finding is cross-referenced against your documents and responses. We trace evidence back to source material and quantify business impact.
- Tier 3: Report Quality Review—Final reports must meet an 80/100 consultancy-grade threshold. Critical sections undergo two-pass review. If a section falls short, it’s regenerated.
This systematic approach ensures you receive insights you can confidently present to your board—not AI-generated guesswork.
Revue-ai isn’t a single AI answering questions—it’s an orchestrated analysis engine with multiple specialist components:
- Parallel specialist agents—Gap analysis, risk assessment, quality scoring, and recommendation generation run simultaneously, each with domain-specific expertise
- Knowledge graph integration—We build a relationship map of concepts, risks, and findings from your documents, enabling insights that span multiple sources
- Thesis-driven reporting—Every report starts with a strategic thesis that drives all sections, ensuring narrative coherence rather than disconnected observations
- Methodology-aware scoring—We don’t apply generic criteria. Agile projects are assessed against Agile best practices; Waterfall against Waterfall frameworks
The result is analysis that understands context, connects dots across your documentation, and delivers coherent strategic insight—not a list of AI-generated bullet points.
Revue-ai recognises that Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid projects have fundamentally different success factors. Our analysis adapts accordingly:
- Agile projects are assessed on sprint effectiveness, team dynamics, backlog health, velocity trends, and continuous improvement practices
- Waterfall projects are evaluated against governance rigour, phase-gate compliance, risk management maturity, and planning quality
- Hybrid approaches are analysed for flexibility balance, governance transitions, and appropriate methodology application across workstreams
Each methodology has 20+ weighted evaluation criteria across 5 scoring dimensions, developed from industry frameworks and consulting best practice. This isn’t generic AI—it’s specialist expertise encoded into systematic analysis.

Data Security & Privacy
Revue-ai is built on Microsoft Azure infrastructure with data residency as a priority:
- AI Analysis: All AI models used for document analysis and report generation are hosted in the United Kingdom (Azure UK South region)
- Voice & Text-to-Speech: Voice processing services are hosted in Sweden (Azure Sweden Central region)
- Data at Rest: All customer data is stored within UK data centres
This ensures your data remains within European jurisdictions with strong data protection frameworks.
No. Your data is never used to train or improve AI models. Specifically:
- Your prompts, documents, and generated outputs are not used to train Microsoft, third-party, or any other AI models
- Your data is processed solely to deliver your review results
- Fine-tuned models and analysis outputs are available exclusively for your use
Microsoft Azure provides contractual commitments that your data remains yours and is never shared with model providers or used for model improvement.
Revue-ai leverages Microsoft Azure’s enterprise-grade security infrastructure:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
- Access Controls: Role-based access control (RBAC) and Azure Active Directory integration
- Compliance: Azure UK regions are designed for UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliance
- Audit Trails: Comprehensive logging and monitoring of all data access
Microsoft does not provide any government with direct or unfettered access to customer data and follows rigorous legal review processes for any lawful requests.
We understand this concern completely—it’s the most common question from organisations evaluating Revue-ai. The important thing to know is that document upload is entirely optional.
Our platform is built around a comprehensive questionnaire system with 260+ targeted questions that captures the detail our AI agents need to deliver meaningful analysis. All 6 analysis agents are designed to work with questionnaire responses alone, and several products—including the Executive Insight Brief and Team Health Diagnostic—are specifically built for questionnaire-only use.
If your organisation is comfortable sharing some documentation but not all, you have options:
- Upload obfuscated or redacted versions of sensitive documents
- Extract key content and paste it into the questionnaire fields
- Upload non-sensitive supporting materials while keeping confidential documents internal
The questionnaire-only path still delivers actionable, consulting-grade insight—document upload simply adds additional depth and evidence for the AI to work with.
Revue-ai enforces strict organisation-level data isolation:
- Database isolation: PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) policies enforce tenant separation at the database level. Other organisations physically cannot query your data—the database engine itself prevents cross-tenant access.
- Review-level access: Only users explicitly assigned to a review can see its documents, questionnaire responses, and generated reports.
- AI processing isolation: All AI analysis uses Azure OpenAI (UK South region), not the public OpenAI API. Microsoft contractually cannot store, access, or use your data for model training.
- Encryption: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, and field-level encryption for sensitive data fields.
For more detail, see our Security Policy and our article on Security in the Age of AI.
We believe in transparency on this topic. Like any SaaS platform—Jira, Notion, Google Workspace, or Salesforce—a small number of named system administrators have the technical ability to access customer data at the database level.
However, this access is strictly governed:
- Access is only exercised for support escalations or technical debugging—never as routine practice
- All database access is audited and logged with timestamps and the identity of the accessor
- The number of administrators with this level of access is kept to an absolute minimum
- We are happy to provide written commitments regarding data access policies as part of your procurement process
We’d rather be honest about how enterprise SaaS works than make claims that aren’t credible. Our commitment is to earn your trust through transparency, not marketing.
